Bring home one of the largest and most legendary snake species on the African continent with the African Rock Python (Python sebae). Native to sub-Saharan Africa’s diverse habitats—ranging from rainforest edges to open savannas and riverbanks—this formidable constrictor is globally celebrated for its impressive size, powerful build, and complex, beautiful coloration featuring blotched patterns of brown, olive, chestnut, and yellow. As Africa’s largest snake, they grow rapidly into massive, muscular adults requiring custom-built, highly secure enclosures and unwavering safety protocols. Due to their immense strength and defensive disposition, they represent the pinnacle of large-snake husbandry for advanced, dedicated professional keepers only.

Key Features & Care Requirements

• Striking Earth-Tone Patterning: Features gorgeous, intricate geometric blotches and bands in rich olive, brown, tan, and gold that provide natural camouflage.

• Heavy-Duty Custom Enclosure: Requires a massive, escape-proof custom-built room, enclosure, or stock tank featuring secure, industrial-grade locking mechanisms and high-humidity structural materials.

• Warm Ambient Gradient & High Humidity: Demanders a warm ambient temperature gradient ranging from 78°F to 88°F with a localized basking spot up to 92°F, alongside high humidity levels (60% to 80%) and a large water basin for soaking.

• Carnivorous Mammal Diet: A strictly carnivorous diet consisting of appropriately sized frozen-thawed rodents and rabbits, scaled up to large prey items as the snake matures.
