Bring a stunning splash of color to your aquatic setup with the Albino Bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus). While standard American bullfrogs are known for their camouflage greens and browns, this rare amelanistic morph showcases a brilliant golden-yellow body and translucent or ruby-red eyes due to a total lack of dark pigment. Bold, robust, and possessing an impressive appetite, the albino bullfrog shares the legendary hardiness and size of its wild-type counterparts, making it a captivating and low-maintenance centerpiece for dedicated amphibian enthusiasts.

Key Features & Care Requirements

• Striking Coloration: A brilliant golden-to-creamy yellow body paired with striking reddish-pink eyes that stand out in any naturalistic enclosure.

• Impressive Scale: One of the largest frog species in North America, growing into a heavy-bodied adult that requires adequate floor and water space.

• Aquatic-Centric Setup: Requires a spacious semi-aquatic enclosure featuring a deep water section for swimming and soaking, alongside an easy-to-access land area.

• Water Quality & Maintenance: Demands clean, filtered, or frequently changed de-chlorinated water, as amphibians absorb moisture and toxins directly through their permeable skin.

• Voracious Appetite: An opportunistic carnivore with a powerful feeding response; accepts large insects, earthworms, mice, and commercial amphibian pellets.

Important Note: Due to their lack of dark melanin, albino morphs can be more sensitive to intense, direct ultraviolet light and require plenty of shaded, secure hiding spots within their enclosure. Bullfrogs are also solitary animals and should be housed individually to prevent cannibalism.
